I take it he was placed on an atypical antipsychotic that could be upwards of $200 per month. Is there some kind of state-run health insurance where you live that he could apply for? I suggest you research this. Another option is for your brother to take a traditional neuroleptic like the one used in the CATIE study. I was on Stelazine for 17 years, and it worked fine, is one of the older medications. I don't diagnose or treat people, so I'm not saying your brother should go on a drug just because I took it. However, older medications often work just as well and cost less than the newer ones.
