Busy. I like the word. To me it makes me feel useful and loved, and I need that.
Carol phoned me yesterday and , with her usual flare of the unexpected , asked to speak tomorrow at a college in front of a class of community health care workers.
And so, as usual, I drop everything and give in to her request and consent to do the work.
I see my worker Chris on Thursday(the same day) so it's going to be a full schedule that day. Chris is heading up a new affordable housing project in a year or so so I'm getting in on the ground level, maybe some peer advocacy or the like, and we'll see how that goes. It's good for mentally ill people, like me, to know that help is easily accessed.
My Dad's broken wrist is almost completely healed, and I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with him and Mom over Christmas.
Bless you
Don F.

Don I want to commend you and also David for your willingness to speak on your personal experiences with Mental Illness. In a way I too would like to do so but I can get very nervous and emotional when talking in public.
Thanks so much for speaking out for people like myself who find what you do hard to do!
