What is the right thing to say to a hairdresser with distressing news

my hairdresser was about to cut my families hair. she had distressing news.  she has just gotten off the phone with custmer service for her gas bill. her customer service for her gas company had been outsourced to an eastern indian company. probably pakistan. what should she do
