Schizophrenia and suicide

I recently lost my schizophrenic brother to suicide. I don't think his suicide was intentional, but what he did, nevertheless, ended up killing him. I didn't want to tell anyone this but I stopped taking prozac ( not abilify) for a few days, despite knowing that abruptly stopping can have side effects.
