Hello,

Find a clinic that can see you now on a sliding fee scale.

Call the local reputable hospital with a psychiatric ward and ask the staff for the name of a good clinic in your community.

It is always best to get treated with medication immediately if it turns out you have schizophrenia.  To wait any longer will cause the illness to worsen over time.

With early intervention, you can recover.

Christina

Since 2 people in your immediate family have schizophrenia, there is an increased risk that you will develop it.  If you are hearing things and are concerned, you might check and see if there is a gov't clinic within driving range.  I don't know if you are in the U.S. or not, but there is a county-run mental health clinic in the city were I live.  You pay on a sliding scale and can get a diagnosis, therapy, medication, etc.  It is definitely worth it for you to be checked by a professional and start getting treatment now, if you do have sz.  The earlier you receive treatment, the better the projected outcome.

Best wishes to you.
