Q: can you take haldol with pop

my dad has dementia and is under Hospic care

Hello shumate,

 

Please, ask your father's psychiatrist.  I can't advise you, this is a medical question about specific treatment.  That said, you need to know that certain antipsychotics have warnings that they shouldn't be prescribed in patients with dementia-related psychosis because of the increased risk of death compared to placebo.  You won't know if Haldol is one of them unless you ask the pdoc.  And quite simply, I don't know the answer to your question.  Put your mind at ease by asking the professional who is treating your doctor.
