Hi Lisa,   Please ask your psychiatrist this as I don't know the answer.   However, the medications used to treat schizophrenia [the newer atypicals li Seroquel] could cause weight gain, and the extra weight could cause sleep apnea.  I know people who carry a few extra pounds who have sleep apnea.  I'm not diagnosing your problem, I'm merely suggesting an idea that you can discuss with your psychiatrist.   There are many new, safe, effective treatments for sleep apnea, by the way.   I hope you find some relief.   Best wishes, Christina
