Q: fiance recently diagnosed

my fiance was recently disagnosed with schizophenia, he sometimes has blocks and cant remember what he said or what hes done. He got some medication but hes refusing to take it because he doenst like tablets

 

are there any others way to help that anyone can recommend?

Hello shadow,

 

The road ahead will be long and rocky if your fiance has SZ and doesn't take medication.  Not only that, if he truly has SZ, he'll need to take some form of anti-psychotic to have the best possible life and best chance for recovery.

 

There is no other way around this.

 

Educate yourself about SZ by reading this web site.  Click on the green "find" button at the top left of this page, and click on "schizophrenia basics."

 

Be prepared for a tough time if he doesn't take his meds.

 

I'm sure other community members here will chime in the same way.
