Hello shadow,   The road ahead will be long and rocky if your fiance has SZ and doesn't take medication.  Not only that, if he truly has SZ, he'll need to take some form of anti-psychotic to have the best possible life and best chance for recovery.   There is no other way around this.   Educate yourself about SZ by reading this web site.  Click on the green "find" button at the top left of this page, and click on "schizophrenia basics."   Be prepared for a tough time if he doesn't take his meds.   I'm sure other community members here will chime in the same way.   Regards, Christina
