My 22 year old daughter was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder after her first breakdown at 18 years of age. She has mild cerebral palsy and is visually impaired. She has been on a wide variety of medications, and is very sensitive, many side affects, TD, rashes, etc. She was doing pretty well on Seroquel, and then in April had a grand mal seizure. Don't know if it was due to high dose of Seroquel or if she was dehydrated. Since that time things have gone downhill, she's on anti seizure meds, and we're pushing up the Seroquel, have her on Lithium, Remeron, Clonapin, Xanax, Zonogram and Tomomax, but she's hearing the voices 24/7 (she does sleep with Lunesta) but she is very flat and blocking. Has anyone had any knowledge of a person with CP and problems with meds?? We're thinking the best course of treatment is hospitalization to get off all meds and start over. She's a good kid, very bright, wants to get better, is rational, knows she is mentally ill and always takes her meds. Any information will be appreciated.

thank you Janet for your input. I'm glad to hear the seroquel is working for you. I hope you continue to stay healthy. My daughter is up to 1000 mg Seroquel a day, so maybe we just need to give a little more time.
