I currently am on a regiment of ECT's. They work good. They lift my depression. My sz is controlled by ECT, meds, and diet and exercise. There is no cure for schizophrenia. There is treament, like what I've described. ECT are good for some and not so good for some. Any treatment is like that. Some meds may work for me and many not for others. Your sister can live a healthy life. It all depends on her treatment and how she accepts it. I wish you and your sister the very best.

Sincerely,

David

All I can tell you about ECT treatments is that they worked well for me. I had them on two different times in my life and I do think they did the trick for me. While others may disagree with me let me say I would keep an open mind and to research ECT through the internet. I also would be honest with your doctor and let him know if you have any doubts on having the treatments. Just like medicines work differently for all of us so can ECT.

Shock treatment can help with depression, mania, anxiety, and psychosis but not schizophrenia (which is a psychosis in itself but with distorted thinking).
