Dear unknown forgive my frankness in this response. If they knew how to prevent schizophrenia there wouldn't be any. The doctors and scientists don't even know what causes sz. It's not something you catch like a cold or flu.   In my case I believe it's caused by three factors. 1.genetics. 2.social. 3.illegal drugs. These are my beliefs not any doctor or specialists' findings.   I have 4 siblings who show no signs of schizophrenia. The only other relative that I'm aware of that has sz is a cousin.   I sincerely hope that you don't get sz. If you do have sz there are many treatment options available. Take care,   David
