Q: Please answer.....

I wrote awhile back about early symptoms of sz. ...if they came and went...and didn't get a reply. I would also like to know if it is normal for some of the symptoms..especially the delusions and halluc. to come mainly at night? My son is on abilify and zoloft...has, possible sz...he is still under observation. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello Debi,

I thought this had been answered.

I had a roommate with SZ whose voices worsened at night so she would listen to the radio real loud while I was sleeping, to drown out the voices.  It is possible for delusions and hallucinations to occur mostly at night or at another time of the day.

Symptoms can come and go; they can virtually disappear and then re-appear due to stress or changes in the chemistry of the brain.

Regards,

Christina

I go through high mania and deep depression. Thanks to meds and ECT's I manage. I hear "voices' and there's been times where I didn't hear any. Like any mood it ebbs and flows.

My voices are mainly in the morning hours when its quiet.

I haven't had delusions in some years and I'm trying to remember what it felt like and how I dealt with it. I guess that's a good thing. Meds have helped.

I don't know about "normal" symptoms. I say I'm a "normal schizophrenic."

Give your son some time to get the right meds. it may take some time but believe me there is a healthy life to be had.

Take care,

Dave
