Hello kaetitia,   I want to suggest certain things:   The benefits of taking anti-psychotics greatly outweigh, for the most part, the side effects.   Every drug has different side effects, so it's best you talk to your psychiatrist about what kinds of side effects you might have with the particular drug you're on.   Every professional in the field will tell you that untreated schizophrenia is a far more dangerous state to be in and warrants medication therapy.   To recover, a person has to take the medication every day, as prescribed, and not miss a single dose to get the maximum benefit, and to get the maximum relief from her symptoms.   I'll close out by saying that schizophrenia is not a life sentence, it's not a dead end, and when you find the drug or combination of drugs that work, you can have a better life than you thought possible.   I wish that for you.   Regards, cb
