Hello P.Ghosh,

Fluoxetine Hydrochloride is the generic name for Prozac, an anti-depressant.

Aatipirazole, if I deduce correctly, is your misspelling of Aripiprazole, which is Abilify, and anti-psychotic.  Venlaxine I haven't heard of.

I suggest you ask the psychiatrist why he has prescribed these medications.

Just by knowing the names of the meds alone, I can't determine or know why she's on them.  One medication can be used to treat a different disorder in one persom from the disorder it's used for to treat another person.

Lastly, sometimes a diagnosis will change over time.

The question to ask is, does the current drug routine alleviate her present symptoms enough so that she finds relief.

Regards,

cb

Hi P Ghosh,

Thank you for your question. As mentioned above, fluoxetine is Prozac, an anti-depressant medication. Aripriprazole is Abilify, an anti-psychotic. And venlafaxine is Effexor, another anti-depressant medication. You can learn more (directions for use, side effects, etc) about each of these medications by clicking the links above. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
