I have considered several ways I might answer your question.  Yes, schizophrenia has been a terrible problem at times -- hallucinations, confusion, paranoia, etc., -- who wouldn't call that a problem?  But now that I look back, has it been that bad of a problem to my life as a whole?  No -- it has turned me toward a better way of life.  Now I am not centering my being on work and making money.  I am centering on taking care of the people in my life, helping others who need help like I once did, taking time for a nap, for observance of nature, for communion with God.

Hello Hazera,

Schizophrenia, granted, is one of life's more difficult challenges; however, it can be successfully managed with medication, therapy, and a support system of caring, loving friends, family and others.

The other suggestion in your question hints at whether there is something "wrong" with a person because he or she has schizophrenia.  Rest assured, it is the person's brain that is flawed, NOT the person.

I urge you to look ahead to the possibilities.

Stigma exists, no doubt about it; I urge you to be brave and soldier on in the face of it.

Live your life and love yourself.

Best,

Chri
