Why do experts say that paranoid schizophrenia is not enabled by drug use? What evidence do they have to support that?

Hello,

Your question is not clear to me: as the reality is idrug use can exacerbate symptoms in someone who has a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia.  It can cause symptoms.  Marijuana use may either cause psychosis or a person may self-medicate his or her psychosis by smoking marijuana or doing other drugs.

So yes, there is a clear-cut link between drug use and schizophrenia.

So I'm not sure what you mean by "not enabled."

Feel free to elaborate.

Regards,

Christina
