If you want an immediate answer, please ask your pharmacist.

Alternatively I can ask my doctor when I see him next Friday.

I'm aware that atypicals, like Geodon, can improve someone's mood.

I was on Stelazine, a traditional neuroleptic, for 20 years, and it wasn't until the doctor raised the dose from 5 mg to 10 mg that my mood significantly improved.  I used to have Seasonal Affective Disorder and that symptom stopped cold as soon as I began taking the 10 mg of Stelazine.

So I believe a mood change could depend on finding the correct dose of medication for the individual.  I found relief with 10 mgs of Stelazine.  Haldol is also a traditional neuroleptic so it is possible ti could influence mood positively as well when you find the right effective dose for you.

Sometimes, though, an antidepressant is added to the antipsychotic regimen, as an adjunct medication.

Regards,

Christina
