Hi sherrie mcnall,

This kind of question is best answered by consulting your doctor and working with him on different dosing times to find out, by trial-and-error if necessary, the ideal time for you to take the abilify.

Some medications need to be taken with food, others do not.

I'm on Geodon and I take it in the morning with breakfast and at night with dinner.

The best time of day for you to take abilify could also possibly depend on if you have symptoms and if so, when they occur during the day and the best time to take the abilify to find relief from them.

Again, your doctor will be in the best position to determine when you should take them.

Also, remember, that if one dosing time doesn't work out, like I said, it's entirely possible that you will have to try out different times of day to take the abilify, before finding the best time.

Good luck.

Regards,

cb

I was told by my prescribing doctor to take it in the morning, probably so it would work at its best during the day. But another Doctor told me to take it at night, to escape the drowsiness and negative side effects..... Abilify is one of the better ones I think , not as many bad side effects.. so you can safely take it in the morning and it will work well all day long. i only occasionally feel drowsy from it.

I'm so glad to have found this response. Laughing  I am going to HAVE to take it at night.

I just started taking Abilify (along w/ Cymbalta, Adderall, & Armour Thyroid) five days ago and have had to take a nap twice a day, since then...even with the Adderall!

Luckily, I am a stay-at-home mom & can nap when my little one does. However, this has prevented me from getting anything else done since last Wednesday.  Thanks for your response!
