Hello B,   If your income falls below a certain amount, you qualify for Medicare if you have a disability.  Some people with psychiatric conditions also qualify for Medicaid.   Various drug companies have Patient Drug Assistance programs which offer free or low-cost medications for people with psychiatric diagnoses.  Log on to www.rxassist.org to find out about this.   Note that Barack Obama, if elected, will create various health insurance plan options for all Americans.  McCain will not do this; he will tax the "tax rebate" money he gives you to buy health insurance.  The $2,500 McCain plans to give individuals to pay their premiums will barely make a dent in the cost of the insurance.  The Obama plans will not tax your health insurance premiums and there will be the option of both public and private plans for people of all income levels.   Regards, Christina
