Hello,

I am going to speak with the executive director of the local NAMI affiliate on Monday and find out what she recommends.  There are residential options in some cities and towns for senior citizens who have mental illnesses.  They would monitor any medications your mother is prescribed for the SZ.

Let me get back to you shortly.

Regards,

Christina

Wow -- you have really had to handle a lot in your life, haven't you?  You and your mother and the rest of your family.  I trust Christina to find help for you.  You are welcome here at this site any time -- we are very supportive of each other.  Perhaps you could offer to take your mom to a psychiatrist and see she gets the medication she needs.  A therapist for yourself is something else you ought to consider -- someone to talk to who is supportive and professional and trained to help you get answers to your question.  I am female and personally find that I get the most help from female therapists.

Please report back and let us know how things are going.

Best wishes,

Carolyn
