Hello twobarrel,     I can answer 95 percent of the questions posed here.   This is what I can tell you in response to your question:   I suggest you ask the doctor or your mother why the doctor put him on the Geodon.   Every "atypical" anti-psychotic [like Geodon] carries a warning label that it is not to be used to treat dementia-related psychosis because there's an increased risk of death.   I as well as others here would be unable to tell you if this is the drug he needs to be on.   We couldn't give medical advice of that nature.  Keep up the dialogue with your father-in-law's doctor and with your father-in-law himself if he is able to communicate with you.   Regards, Christina
