Hi ValorieC,

Schizoaffective disorder is a combination of schizophrenia and a mood disorder, such as mania or depression.  Like with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, it can be managed successfully with medication and therapy for a lot of people who are diagnosed with it.

Read the SharePosts here to see people who are living happy, healthy lives with both diagnoses.

Regards,

Christina

Valorie,

Schizoaffective disorder is Bipolar and schizophrenia. I have that diagnosis. I "hear voices" and have severe highs and lows.

Let me just say that even though that sounds bad,,and it is,,but you CAN have a good life. Take meds, sleep 8-9 hours a day, eat right, excerise. Don't do drugs, alcohol, caffeine or tobacco. Do all those things and you will be successful.
