Techno help please How do I change my profile photo? What am I doing wrong?

Looking for help from our regular 'experts' after many attempts to change my profile photo. Thought to have a 'spring clean' and move on from winter!

I manage to get the 'title' of photo in place after 'browsing' my photos and clicking 'open' on the chosen photo but when I then click 'save' on the edit profile page, it blanks out the choice of new photo and leaves the old in place. Very frustrating. All suggestions gratefully received.
