my brother has been on clozaril off and on since it was first approved for sale in the U.S. Lately, he's developed severe rash all over his body and he's been on antibiotics, steroids, and topical but no one knows why. could it be a reaction to clozaril?

Hello Mary,

Clozaril can cause a rash.  A person can also be allergic to Clozaril.

Please talk to your psychiatrist about this in case you need to switch meds or adjust the dose of the Clozaril.

Regards,

Christina

Mary,

It is also possible that the Clozaril in combination with the other drugs caused the rash as a side effect of the use of multiple drugs at once.
