Gothicmindkiller:   Most treatment professionals believe that a individual can inherit genes the make that person more susceptable to developing schizophrenia.   It is also thought that some relatives of individuals with schizophrenia are themselves more likely to develop the illness.  A case in point is that if an identical twin develps schizophrenia, the other twin is 50% more likely to deveop schizophrenia.   I suggest that you read Surviving Schizophrenia by E. Fuller Torrey, M.D. and Divided Minds by Pamela Spiro Wagner and Carolyn S. Spiro, M.D.   Robin
