Hello inalotofkarma,   Forgive me, my eyesight is poor and I can't decipher the name you listed in your ask question, so I'm responding with what I believe is the name you wrote: inalotofkarma.   To me, it's scary that those drugs could be prescribed to an 11-year old who wasn't diagnosed with schizophrenia.  I don't know where you live, but I wouldn't want to live there if something like this is going on as a routine response to handling a kid in school.   It is within your right, and I respect your privacy, to not share the details of the PTSD.  Since you alone know the full story, you have to be honest with yourself about the need for medication and what's been going on in your son's life.   From the brief overview you gave us, I feel it's premature to prescribe those meds to an 11-year old boy based on the simple statement, "I'm going to kill myself," unless that statement fits in with something going on in his life that you haven't clued us in about.   I don't know *ALL* the short and long-term side effects of those meds.  I would go to a local, reputable pharmacist and ask.  I would also log on to www.drugs.com, where you can read the information about drugs, as well as type in the names of more than one drug, and find out how they interact with each other.   Why is he being prescribed two anti-depressants, Prozac and Zoloft?  Is the Zoloft being prescribed as an anti-anxiety medication?   I'm sorry I'm not a professional who can give you medical advice. However, I'll end with this:  I think a lot of school officials are quick to medicate kids when it's not always necessary.  Again, you have to be honest with yourself about what's going on.  In my opinion, a court-mandated order to take drugs is pretty extreme for an 11-year old; quite frankly, I've never heard of that happening before.   Could you get your own attorney?   Respectfully, Christina
