  Richard:   You're question can only be answered by compatent psychiatrist.  Ask you child's psychiatrist.   Most neuroleptic medications have not been tested for use with children largely because it is seen as an ethical issue by the FDA and drug developers [and if these drugs were to be tested in children in addition to adults it would probably add another $250,000,000 to $500,000,000 to the cost of developing the drug.]   When most of these medications are prescribed for children, the doctor is doing so "off label," i.e., with the tacit approval of the FDA.  I developed schizophrenia at the age of thirteen, some fifty years ago.  I thank my lucky stars that my doctor had the courage to use these medications with me.  If he had not done so, I would have died in the streets many years ago.   Robin
