Im not sure if you know this, but this particular sharepost on your sight is not only propogating the message that the demons are real, but is admonishing sufferers of schizophrenia for letting the devil into their lives.  It goes so far as to say that if you have schizophrenia you go to hell.  These folks aren't mentally ill, they are meshugganah.  I am being attacked right now by some creatures on my back porch and was looking for some comfort, but in the words of sholem alechim "I'm not complaining healthcentral, after all, with your help, I'm frightened to death."  I can't imagine what a proclaimer of the christian faith who suffers from a disease which makes them susceptible to belief in the reality of their apperations, must be feeling when they come here for solace only to discover that, in fact, they are the devils own spawn.

Perhaps not the whole SharePost, just the comments of someone named something creamer, and prophetess.  Neither of whom have in fact schizophrenia.

David:

Only the Website Producer can delete a SharePost.  Normally, I would hope that visitors to the sight would just ignore a posting of this type, but in this case I believe, as you do, that it should be deleted.  I too find it troubling and offensive.  I will talk to the Website Producer and determine what the website's policy is in this regard, and if their policy permits it, I will recommend that it be removed.  There my be issues concerning freedom of speech, censorship or similar rights that could affect the Websites policy in this regard.  In other words, the site may not have any choice in the matter.

Just so you will know, I was raised in a fundamentalist religious tradition.  When I first got schizophrenia, half of the members of our church thought I was possessed by Satan and his demons, and tried to bar me from entry.  The minister told me if I didn't stop the voices, I would go straight to hell.  You have to know, if I could have stopped the voices, I would have done so - in a nanosecond.  The efect of all this was to terrify me.

I don't think SchizophreniaConnection wants to be used to spread such anquish to its visitors.

I will post another comment to your Sharepost once I get an answer, or you can send me your e-mail address.

Hello David Betzer,

I am sorry you had to see that and I share in your disappointment.

I too have seen the Prophetess SharePost and the other comments.

Quite frankly I didn't want to dignify them with a response.

Trust me, if Robin says he's going to investigate this, he will.

Regards,

Chris

I responded to Prophetess once in a sincere and responsible manner.  Her reply was rather hostile and defensive, so I simply chose not to respond to those posts anymore.  In fact, I don't even read them.  But I can't determine whether or not she has schizophrenia, because some people with sz do go overboard with religion issues.
