Hi,
I often refer people to a list of schizophrenia early warning signs.
Right now I would tell you to talk to someone in person: a therapist, a psychiatrist, your primary care doctor who can accurately [at this point in time] diagnose what is going on at this point in your life.
If it turned out you had schizophrenia: the earlier you got treatment the better the outcome would be.
You are in a lot of discomfort now and deserve to have peace of mind.
Imagine: if what you are experiencing now was to continue for the rest of your life. You might have 20, 30, 40 or even 50 more years here. Imagine screaming and sobbing every day for the rest of your life. Imagine hearing these noises non-stop.
Put in that context I'm sure you will understand why I can tell you to speak to someone in person right now. The symptoms of schizophrenia, for the majority of people, and the symptoms of other mental health conditions, do not go away on their own.
For the majority of people with schizophrenia, some form of medication and therapy is required.
Please understand there is no shame in having a mental health condition. I have schizophrenia and I went on to become the community leader of this web site, and I also have a degree in library science and I have a day job.
So I want to stress that with effective management of these kinds of things: you can have a good life.
Regards,
Christina
