Question
Marya Pyrek
07/03/08

I have written an autobiographical essay on schizoaffective disorder. I would like to present it. H

How can I get started.  Are there any people you can think of who can use it?  I would also like if it could be used in conjuntion with a text, for student studying this area.  I believe it would widen their viewpoint and expand their horizons.  This work is quite lenghty as I really wanted to publish it as a book but do not have the financial resources to do so.  I also have no idea how to go about publishing. I would love to speak to someone who could help me! I would accept no financial monies for presnting or publishing this.

Hi Marya Pyrek,

I suggest you create a user ID for SchizophreniaConnection (this Web Site) and post excerpts of your schizoaffective book as SharePosts here.  You will get support and encouragement.  We are the only mental health Internet forum that allows everyone to create and post blogs without having to be chosen.  As long as your blog entries are in good taste, they'll automatically be posted.  You write a SharePost in the box, or cut-and-paste your book excerpts into the box, press "Submit" and then they're posted right away.  You can press "preview" to see what it would look like before you send it (to correct typos or grammar, if you'd like) or press "save as draft" to continue and post at a later date.

When you post the excerpts, I would be willing to comment on them.

The other option for a book-length memoir or mental health book is to publish through XLibris or iUniverse or even PublishAmerica, all low-cost options.

Yet as I've said, please do start by posting SharePosts here.

Best Regards,

Chri
