hi carla, this sounds a really difficult time for yoour son and all your family i do know of one antipsyciotic that has been really good for a friend of mine called quetiapine 300 mg taken at night before bed the side effects they get is sleepiness and feeling really drunk my friend at one point was givn a higher dose which she was unable to tolarate as it made her feel very nauseus maybe you could ask about this medication on your sons next appointment but the only draw back to all medication it has different effects on different people but with what you have said i am sure it is worth ago hope this has helped in some way   nic
