Q: Did your brain ever?

I have paranoid schizophrenia and the voices started six month or seven months ago.  I thought they were people (psychics) at first and then I thought I was cursed and anyway I was you know really really scared and I was actually walking through the house covering my mouth saying "You are cursed", because my brain told me that that is all I would have to say to make my family cursed too because they never believed they were.  I wasn't the one saying "You are cursed".  Well I was the one saying it but I didn't mean to say it.  The brain made me say it without me authorizing it.

So the question is what part of your brain is activated when we talk?

It looks like it all starts in the cerebrum.

"It cannot feel pain. The brain can feel pain from all over the body, but not within itself."

For years I thought a headache was pain in our brains.  Turns out I wasn't right.

Hello MichelleP,

It is good to hear from you again and I will check out those web sites.

I too have a flawed brain and its chemistry is seriously screwed up unless I take the medication.  The Geodon allows my brain to be compensated so that it can act like a healthy brain.

If I weren't on medication I wouldn't have recovered as well as I've done.

Yes I understand how it feels to remember the things you did when you had symptoms you could not control.  I felt embarrassed about this and ashamed.  The longer I stayed on the medication, the better I felt about things.

Again it is always good to hear from you.

Enjoy your day.

Regards,

Christina

I not a brain specialist so this answer is MY opinion.

I hear voices. I first heard them years ago. At first they told me to do things. They said that I was a "prophet." Now I don't hear them as much. I never listen and NEVER do what they say.

My advice is to be proactive in dealing with voices. Recognize that they are voices and put they out and away from your thoughts. Taking meds is vital. Writing about the voices is also a good tool.

Be strong and be patience.

I am not talking about the voices.  I am talking about the things your brain can make you do.  I hear voices and it isn't bad.  I know they are my brain, but this time I wasn't hearing voices.  The brain actually made me say "You are Cursed" without me authorizing it.  I never told my brain to say it, but it did.

The voices told me they can not feel pain and you know there is some truth to that because the brain can feel pain just not within itself.  I found that out yesterday.

What I am trying to say is I never knew that schizophrenia could make you say something you didn't want to say and I was wondering if anyone else ever had that experience.
