Sorry, I forget to inform u of the area.

I am tired of fighting this thing alone with physical Dr's.  I need someone who knows the disease and the treatments. I want to spend the rest of my life with some modicum of normalacy.

I live in Central Florida around the Inverness, Ocala, Tampa area.  Tampa is about 1 1/2 hours away, but Inverness has a few phsyciatrists.

Hi Tinker,

I suggest you call a local, well-known and respected hospital that has a psych department and ask if they could give you the names of three doctors they recommend.  If at all you have the financial means, I would "interview" the three doctors and then choose the one you get a good feeling about.

I've been reading your SharePosts and the comments you posted in response to what I've written.  And I am appalled that the doctor you mentioned felt that medication wouldn't help you so why prescribe it.  As you possibly realized, sometimes the worst stigma comes from within the mental health community.

I, too, had a psychiatrist for five years who didn't think someone could recover.  I finally found a great doctor and stopped seeing the other idiot.

It will take time to sort things out, so be patient and remember that we're here for you.

As I suggested, call the local reputable hospital with a psych department, and ask if they could give you the names of some good psychiatrists.

As always, I wish you the best.

Regards,

cb
