I got a little confused cause when she call me the other day, I couldn't hear anything in my cellphone after pressing Answer button, but she told me that she could hear my voice, and that the situation was created by her ex-boyfriend. Hello Adi,

Only a psychiatrist can make the diagnosis of schizophrenia, because a person can have psychotic symptoms caused by medication, or by other medical conditions.

That said, the kind of behavior you talk about indicates your friend could be paranoid.  In as gentle and non-threatening a way as possible, you could feel her out and see if she's willing to talk with someone about what is going on.

You wouldn't want to tell her you think she is ill, you could phrase it in such a way that you are concerned about the boyfriend's behavior and its effect on her, even if it is not entirely possible he's actually doing those things

The main thing is, if she does have schizophrenia, getting help quickly will result in a better outcome.  So feel her out, and if necessary, offer to go with her to a professional.

Best,

Chri
