Yes, get an order of protection against your boyfriend by all means.  My grandfather had paranoid schizophrenia and kept threatening abuse to my grandmother.  Eventually he threatened to kill her and did attack her physically and beat her up.  My dad (his son) had to call the police to pick him up and take him to a psychiatric hospital.  I, too, have schizophrenia and the devil told me to kill my husband at a time before I had sought treatment.  And I actually considered doing so.  So you never know what might happen.  Stay away from him and ensure that he stays away from you.   Carolyn
