I am no expert or am not a doctor but my advice to you is not to stop taking any medication without first talking it over with your doctor. Why do you want to stop taking Seroquel? Are the side effects two bothorsome> Personally I would never stop taking any medication for Mental Health or any of condition without talking the matter over with your doctor. Why take any risk?

Hello mump,

Here's the side effect of abruptly stopping any anti-psychotic drug, such as Seroquel:

You get sick again, possibly psychotic, and wind up in the hospital or else not doing well at all.  Five people I know who discontinued their medication in the last five years, all had psychotic episodes.  One person still refuses to take meds, and he can barely function and is a shell of his former self.

The bottom line is, people with a diagnosis of schizophrenia need to be on medication.

If you are experiencing side effects of any kind, from the Seroquel, discuss this with your doctor.

Please, I don't want to see you wind up delusional again.  I don't want you to get sick, so please consider your actions carefully.

Respectfully,

cb
