Q: can schizophrenia lead to brain damage

If you aren't taking an antipsychotic and have schizophrenia, I understand you lose gray matter at an excellerated rate.  What about if you are taking an antipsychotic, like Zyprexa.  Does brain damage still occur from having the illness?  Or is it merely true that everyone's brain loses gray matter as she or he grows older?
