Hello there,
This movie was on a list given to me as suggested movies to watch in order to add insight for my DSM class for my MSW from the University of Texas at Austin. I watched the movie in it's entirety last summer. I remember finding it fascinating. I had chosen to watch this movie and 2 other movies, from a list of about 50, because I have not personally known a family member or friend suffering from this desease AND because I am a big fan of Ralph Fiennes and KNEW he would do the role...whatever it was..JUSTICE. There is a spoiler to the movie...therefore I suggest watching it and if you still hate it...Just gripe me out :) .
I do believe the catchphrase is potent. If you never know your perception is off...Your perception is your reality. It's when you realize you have viewed some or all of your life through a certain filter that you feel so much pain and confusion.
Another interesting one...which is not about the same mental illness, but a mental illness just the same...was Night Listener...starring Robin Williams...based on a true story and IS NOT a comedy.
I am a single mom...working fulltime...attending grad school...I promise I do not make suggestions on commiting time to a movie lightly.
Happy Viewing
Sam
