Hi brittney,   My pharmacist told me that Abilify can cause heart palpitations as a side effect.   Whether the heart palpitations are common is another story.  They might not be common and you could possibly have been one of the people who had this side effect.   At any rate, if you have SZ, some form of daily medication  is critical for emotional well-being and to alleviate symptoms.  It might not be Abilify, so you should try a variety of meds to find the best symptom relief with minimal side effects.  You can work with your doctor on this.   Regards, Christina
