Antipsychotic drugs risky for Alzheimer's patients

A new study suggests that antipsychotic drugs are not the answer to treating delusions and aggression in Alzheimer's patients. According to the study, sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health, the drugs do not help most patients and are not worth the risk of sudden death or other side effects.Researchers looked at Zyprexa, Risperdal, and Seroquel--all drugs developed for schizophrenia--and report that of the 421 patients who began the study, a majority of them stopped taking the medi...
