The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given priority review to the antipsychotic med Abilify for the treatment of pediatric schizophrenia. The FDA made this move after Abilify was found effective in treating pediatric schizophrenia patients (ages 13 years to 17 years) in recent international studies. Priority review status is granted when the FDA intends to make a decision on the supplemental use of the med within six months.
