Drugmaker says new schizophrenia drug due out in 2010

According to drugmaker Vanda, its likely their schizophrenia drug Fanapt will be available in 2010. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration turned down the drug once, but later changed their mind, saying they had misinterpreted data. Fanapt will be marketed by Novartis, and experts say the pill should be available early in 2010. After that, the original drugmaker says it plans to develop a once-monthly injection of the medication.   Read full story >
