By Shelly Thursday, July 31, 2008

Any advice for a young woman in her late 20's who's about to buy her first vibrator? I' d prefer to shop online because I'm kind of embarassed. Which online stores carry the best selection? What are the most popular brands and designs?

Choosing your first vibrator can be very overwhelming...there's so many to choose from! It all depends on what you're looking for.  The most basic vibrator out there is a bullet. They are generally no bigger than a finger and run on a battery.  Some have different settings and speeds too.  They are strictly for external stimulation and it's very important not to insert anything that would have to be pulled out by the cord.  A great little vibrator to start off with that's inexpensive and can also be used as a massager is called the Water Dancer.  It's also waterproof if you'd like to take it into the shower or bath with you. If my memory serves me well, I believe it's made by Vibratex.  If you're looking for something larger that's insertable, then I would suggest the Wanachi by Pipedream.  The Wanachi is a good quality, inexpensive vibrator that's slimmer for a beginner as well as waterproof.  The Lucid Dream is comparable to the Wanachi, but it has a wider tip that is curved just right for G-spot stimulation. All of these and plenty more are available to purchase at www.athenashn.com.  This web site is fantastic!  It's tasteful and empowering to women.  Good luck in your search! I'm sure you'll find something satisfying!  When you do choose what product you would like, you probably also want to buy a toy cleaner.  It's very important to wash your toy before and after each use with warm water and a disinfectant.  To prolong the life of your toy and your batteries, make sure you don't store your vibrator with the batteries in it.
