Before wife's hysterectomy we used natural birth control, consisting of rhythm method and pulling out. It did not always get implemented though, as in the heat of lovemaking my wife would at times ask me to stay inside of her. We did not have regrets about those changes of mind, but I could see a couple feeling upset with each other if they were really against having more children.
However, I should add that we were using it more for birth conception than control, and in that 3 year span she did conceive.
We never had side effects, nor did we ever have to make a trip to the store. I wouldn't recommend it for unmarried people or those who do not want chldren now, as it is not 100% effective.

I am starting to look for one. I used to use an IUD, but am seeking something less intrusive, etc., and considering the Novu Ring (sp). Just starting my research.
