Well there is still quite a heated debate going in our blog arena about Sarah Palin, her position on many issues, including abortion and people's views on abortion.  So I think the reasonable question to ask is - just who is utilizing the "right to abort" these days?  Well, fewer white...

You are conflating the number of unwanted pregnancies with the number of abortions.  Your state the number of unwanted pregnancies declined but have no support for your assertion.  Fewer abortions in states which have laws restricting abortion may simply mean that women in those states did not have a choice and had to go through with their unwanted pregnancy.  Also, please be clearer as to what studies you are citing and who did the study.

Unwanted pregnancies are down in the sectors i described meaning that these age groups are either using contraception more reliably or having intercourse at a later date than previously experienced by their age group.  there have been dozens of statistical analyses in order to come up with these numbers and evaluations - my resource was the CDC and several university publications that all had the same statistical infomation so as they say - don't shoot the messenger - I am not 'creating statistics - they are available to the public on the CDC website.

The second reality is that I actually feel that there have to be in place, the means to admit patients who undergo abortions should they have complications.  And more often than not - there will be Ob/Gyn specialists at the hospitals - but they will not want to take on someone else's problem so to speak.  So unless the doctor performing the abortion has admitting privileges OR the clinic has established a relationship with a doctor on staff ready to take care of the patient when admitted - these clinics will disappear if the ordinance is passed.  Individuals involved in these new ordinances have readily admitted what their intenet is - it is no secret - they want to remove choice from their regional clinics.

I am only offering the facts regarding abortion statistics and the issue on hand regarding the ordinances - you can come to your own conclusions or position on the issues.
