Grow a Moustache and Fight Prostate Cancer

Amy Hendel Health Guide
  • Well, not exactly, but thanks to an amazing awareness movement and campaign during the month of Noveeber - men all around the world will be "growing a moustache" to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer research.  You know, we women have done a great job of creating the "pink ribbon campaign" for breast cancer awareness and research, and now it's time to help the guys

Movember is an Australian based not for profit organization that uses the month of November every year to specifically target awareness around men's health issues, and it partners up with selected beneficiaries in other countries, with a specific focus on prostate cancer.  Here in the US, Movember partners with PCF - Prostate Cancer Foundation, an organization that has raised more than $350 million since 1993.  PCF has provided funding for over 1400 research projects at 150 institutions around the world.  Movember funds raised in the US go directly to PCF.

What is PCF's mission statement? "Find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer."  Now sometimes it takes just one man to make a difference.  This year, Justin has taken the Movember movement's mission and made it his passion.  He's asked guys to grow a moustache and use it as an awareness emblem for prostate cancer.  Now, if you don't want to do the moustache thing - or if you're a woman - you can make a donation and help to fund research in this campaign.  Check it out and make a difference!!
