Q: What is this odor caused by?

Recently, there has been a strange, foul odor when I urinate. It's never happened before, I only have one sexual partner (so no STD), and my diet is regular. Drinking water more doesn't seem to be helping. Any other suggestion?

If it only happens when you urinate, you would probably be best seeing an urologist or your family doctor. If it was present at other times, it usually means a bacterial infection but it would stay kind of constant.

You can read this article by Merely Me, a writer and community leader for this site, titled, What You Need to Know About Urinary Tract Infections. One of the symptoms is what you describe. Though there are other symptoms listed, the absence of most doesn't negate a possible infection.

You should be seen by your doctor, tested and if necessary, treated for whatever he diagnoses.
