Hello niks

When you say "safe sex" are you talking about not getting pregnant or not getting an STD or both?

Although it is less likely to happen, you can still get pregnant if you have sexual intercourse during your period.  Here is an article which tells you why.

If you don't want to get pregnant you have to use a reliable form of birth control.  You cannot depend on your period to be a "safe" time.  And it is not guaranteed that you will conceive after your period is over if you engage in sexual intercourse.

Please talk to your doctor or gynecologist about ways to protect yourself from STD's and also to find a good form of birth control if you do not wish to become pregnant right now.

Thank you for your question.
