Q: What causes vaginal odor

I,ve recently been sexually active and experienced itching, burning and a white discharge. I been to the doctor and they said that it is a yeast infection and I was give some cream for the treatment however I am still experiencing a foul odor What must I do? what can I use to eliminate this odor?

If you used the medication as you were supposed to, for as long as they told you; I don't doubt you did and you still have that odor, you should go back to the doctor, or at least contact them about what to do next. If that odor wasn't there before, then it should not be there after the treatment is over. An unpleasant or foul odor usually indicates an infection.

 

You may need an antibiotic but that is up to the doctor to decide. They may want to test you further and make sure that is what you have. You can ask them to explore this further, if they don't mention it.

 

If you have to, you can go to a different gynecologist or other doctor.
